Description

I fell in love with all the cut-out dresses I’ve seen here,
especially – Vivat Veritas’ danielle garden party dress
and – BeckySewsKnits’ Vivat Veritas inspired dress
so I decided to try to do something similar.
I used a dark grey cotton with small blue dots (which dont look so blue on the pictures unfortunatly) and the coffe date dress pattern for the top part and a simple rectangle for the skirt.
I think my version is a bit more revealing because i didn’t made an empire waist so it’s open until the waist line but I’m quiet happy with it anyway.

This is such a cute modification. And I’m interested in how you did the cut out too. :)

it’s actually very simple because I just used the “bodice back facing” part of the pattern as the upper part of the back (not just as a facing). Then I designed myself a little piece for the lower part of the back (you can see it quite well on the third and fourth pictures) it’s a simple angle bracket shape but with more round edges (sorry I’m not sure how to explain it in english, hope you’ll understand)
