Hi! Could you give me some tips about making a muslin lining for the dress? Did you line just the bodice or the skirt too? Your dress is an inspiration, I’ve chosen a powder blue with gingham band. Thanks!

Hello. Thank you for your lovely comment. I created the lining in the same way as for the dress itself, apart from the sleeves. I sandwiched the bodice lining in between the dress and the facing. The lining is red by the way! so I didnt want it to show at the neckline. I then sewed the waistband lining to the skirt lining and then machine stitched it to the waistband seam (that joins to the bodice) Then I hand sewed the bottom of the bodice lining to the top of the waistband lining. Hope that makes sense! :-)

Thank you, that does make sense! Could you post a pic of the inside of the dress (or send it to lilduck86@yahoo.com)? Thanks for sharing your talent!!

LOL…that’s one of the things I loved about it! I was curious as to what the colors on it were?

Yup..it totally rocks! That is exactly what I would wear. My favorite clothes are black and white simple yet beautiful and then what I like to do is add a splash of color to really make it pop. But I love black and white cause it never goes out of style and there really is a lot you can do with it.

Thank you. Not entirely sure what it is but it behaves very much like linen.

Thank you lovely Ralf. I saw the fabric as a Danielle the minute I spotted it! I am flattered that you like my photos! I really dont think they are any good! I think I probably spend far too much time looking at gorgeous photographic blogs and have set myself a standard too high! x
