onsie dresses with diaper covers

Added Jul 17, 2011

Sparks, Nevada, ...

I made dresses, one pink with beautiful linen material, and the other with a cute cherry pattern. I also made the diaper covers out of the onsie and did not sew the snapped part shut. My daughter found it easier to change my grand daughter when the onsie can still snap instead of taking the cover on and off. My grand daughter can still get another month or two from the onsies I sewed these because my grand daughter had grown out of the onsies length wise. I fixed that problem.

Thank you. I’ve been working on these onsies and have made a few. The hardest part about this is working the ruffles into the skirt. I like to double the fabric and then baste stitch. This tends to make the material harder to ruffle, but it does keep the fabric from fraying.
