Hey this is my 100th post to BurdaStyle! I should celebrate, make a party, etc. You’re all invited! ;-)
This is another JJ variation. Hm… I altered everything – front, back, collar, sleeves! :) The button closure is inserted on diagonal, going from neck towards the left hip.
The front panels were redrafted first, so there are one panel for the left and one for the right side, and each of them has a horizontal bust dart. Then I marked the diagonal button closure.
The back panels were also altered – central and side panels were joined together into one piece with vertical waist dart. The back has a central seam shaped to fit my sway back.
The sleeves were lengthened to 3/4 length, the puff is removed and they are quite narrow. Also, I added folded cuffs with slits.
The collar is altered to a standard collar with a stand.
The fabric I used has some elastine, allowing nice fit even though the front vertical darts are missing. Well, the shirt is not VERY fitted, but it follows my body pretty well.
I think it’s a nice every-day, casual shirt.
This shirt is not very original with its design – queenb and Lauriana had similar creations, and I loved their shirts.
queenb used BWOF pattern – I tried the same pattern, but wasn’t satisfied with the fit.

Lauriana drafted her her pattern by herself, and she did an excellent job. Her button closure is more twisted towards hip.

On the third picture I blinked and waved my head trying to move my hair from face. And my camera shot me at the very moment – hence the weird photo. But I kinda like it :)
Cotton with elastine.

wow! how exciting to reach 100! fantastic work :) This blouse is so interesting! I’ve never seen one with the asymetrical front like that! great job redrafting to figure that out, and with the sleeves and all.
