One Shoulder Knit Dress pattern : As a Prom Dress!

Added Jun 20, 2011

by tonicouture

New York, New Yo...

My baby cousin wanted to look different for her prom this year so I volunteered to make her something.
A week to the day and i finally figured out what I would make.
I thought how about a cute cocktail dress with a detachable train so she can have a use for it afterwards?
Found a free pattern for the One Shoulder Knit Dress and added a detachable train, I hand cut the flowers from the lace net fabric and used it as a neck trim and a waist band.
I added some extra sequins and some glue on swarovski crystals

Material Notes

Silk taffeta and a lace net…

I am just coming across this. My daughter’s prom is in four weeks and I thought your idea was lovely. Did you just put the elastic in the waist no zippers or anything?
