This is a Lily Pulitzer inspired dress. I wanted I’Lee to have fun and a print bright enough to not show all the stains. I think I’ll try to make a matching sheath dress for Mommy. :)
This dress is cut from one piece. The pattern says is a “2 hour dress”, but with kids, everything takes 10 times longer. I experimented with single and double fold bias tape and found that the double bias really is easier. So for he extra 30 cents, get the double bias.
Variaions: The first time I made this dress the neck was HUGE. So I cut a much smaller neck and as I’Lee grows I can cut more out and expand it. I also lengthened the dress about an inch.
