Cute summer maxi dresses – pattern VERY loosely based on New Look 6699 (I used the waist and skirt pieces, lengthened the skirt and drafted my own bust, back pieces). I looked at the Dots Invasion Dress for inspiration as well as one in the Burda WOF summer issue.
Yellow lycra print and grey stretch cotton. Red and pink flower print cotton and pink cotton (from a sheet!).

Very nice dresses, but, like cquinn13 I love the fabric of the first dress best!

I LOVE the pattern on the first dress! Even though I’d look horrible in those colors, I’d be so tempted to buy it anyway cause that pattern is just awesome. Good job!

Classy! Interesting to see the difference between a plain and printed waistband.

I love the fabric you used and also both dresses look so different with the contrast waist on one and enhancing the V neck on the other. Really cute too, the style suits you :)

PS you should totally consider yourself an “Intermediate” sewer, you are way past Novice, all your stuff looks great, infact I remember seeing your Laura ages ago, it’s what made me try that pattern :)
