Description

This is the dress that I wore for Valentines Day. It took me about 2 weeks off and on to finish it.. It’s fully lined and custom fit for a nice classic vintage look. I also interfaced the back to give it some structure to make sure that it wasn’t loose.

I didn’t use a specific pattern just alot of trial and error… I used the 5 basic slopers.

I cut the front bodice into princess seams and added s.a. and added a flap to create the boat neck. Then I used the back bodice piece and marked on the fabric to cut out the back. Then took it in bodice piece and skirt piece till it fit like a glove.

The peplum is like a miniature circle skirt. The skirt pieces are darted under the peplum.

I used the basics in drafting a sleeve but at the shoulder part I made it a big mushroom type shape to bring it in for gathering and the puffy effect.

Then I did all the same with the lining except the peplum. I cut it open and added a zipper and it was finally finished.
