OH, and I just saw the full view (sorry for not looking at it before commenting, I’d only seen the old post before it was commented on) and now see that you have stated your intention. Thanks! Still, the message can’t be seen on the thumbnail, which is what we see first…

Hi, I think your sewing creation is very nice, it looks well-made and stylish. I’d also like to see more shots of the romper itself.

I don’t like the combination of the gun with the fashion, though. It’s a bit shocking, and even though now after reading your comments, I suppose you mean to criticise violence, it seems to say the opposite to me. So when you post your art in future, maybe you could consider that photos can be interpreted in different ways and perhaps send a clearer message? I don’t mean to be nasty or anything, and I don’t know what ‘drama’ there was on the other post, but I’ve experienced BurdaStyle as a close-knit community where respect is shown to each other, no matter what different opinions people have.

    This is absolutely horrible.

I’m sorry, but if you can’t take the heat, you shouldn’t be in the kitchen.

Being an “artist” means being responsible for your work—including the (normal) reactions of other people.

Because the Burdastyle group is being way to discrete about this, I’m just going to say it (and they can ban me if they want to).

CJ Jordan, you are shaming yourself and your Ancestors with this picture. To sell clothes.

Just tacking those “stop” words on doesn’t fix it. It’s clear that the intent is to make the violence sexy. Life isn’t a tv show or a game. People die and it is much suffering on earth. Watch the news once in a while. Sudan, Bosnia, Atlanta GA… How do you think someone like Jennifer Hudson feels seeing something like this? It’s also a really bad marketing plan. I hope you think about this before your ruin your own business, but if you can’t accept criticism, you probably will be bankrupt before long. It’s harsh, but I suspect that you deleted the other page because much harsher was already said. It wasn’t about “drama.”

As for Burdastyle, shame on you too. If you are going to have a website like this, you too need to take responsibility for setting clear guidelines. Something this – the sensualization of guns and murder – shouldn’t be here. My daughter will not be allowed to look at the BS Projects.

Why do you want this ugly image to be the face of Burda in this country?

OK I CAN TAKE THE HEAT" you are shaming yourself and your Ancestors with this picture. To sell clothes"

HOW I AM SHAMING MYSELF TO SELL CLOTHES. YOU SOUND CRASS SO HOW DO READ VOUGE MAGAZINES AND GQ ADS. HOW ARE THEY TRYING TO SEXY , IT’S CALLED ACTING. AND HONEY ITS CLEARY STATES STOP THE VIOLENCE SO YOU SOUND CRAZY COMING AT ME WITH THAT

ALSO I CAN TAKE CRITICISM ON CLOTHING BUT WHEN THE PICTURE CLEARLY STATES STOP THE VIOLENCE DONT COME AT ME WITH I AM SHAMING MYSELF TO SELL CLOTHES WHEN I AM NOT. SO CLEARLY YOU NEED YOU GET YOUR FACTS RIGHT BEFORE YOU OR ANYONE BROACH ME.

SHAME ON YOU FOR BEING IN A BOX AND NOT SEEING THE BIGGER PICTURE.

I AM NOT TO PLEASE EVERYONE. & HOW IS BS WHEN I AM STATING A POSITIVE MESSAGE. SO YOU ARE THE CRASS INDIVIDUAL FOR THAT STATING THAT COMMENT.

I strongly believe that you need to get a life and lighten up what do you mean “shaming your ancestors”, that sounds a bit bias to me. If you don’t like it then don’t look at it, skip it. Your views are not necessarily the views of everyone, if you have the time to spread negative messages on people who are busy trying to be creative then that saids a lot about how interesting your life is. shame of YOU. Tu das pena!, du solltest dich schämen!!

    Hi Crystal J,

It takes courage to share a controversial artistic expression! You have sparked an interesting conversation about violence and fashion imagery. This subject matter walks a fine line with what is considered “acceptable” for sharing on BurdaStyle. The images you have posted are dramatic, so it’s not surprising to see a strong reaction from our community.

Please keep in mind that this is an international community with viewers of all ages. We encourage members to be true to their creative vision, but to always be respectful of each other, too. This includes the content of projects, as well as the reactions in the Comments section.

    -Rachel @ BurdaStyle

I don’t think you should have deleted the other one. See art is not just about expression, but it’s about reactions. And the fact that you got reactions (good or bad) means your creativity is doing its job. On that note, I do wish there were a few more views of this romper – back and side.
