Description

When I saw the ruffle curtains at Urban, and the ombre ruffle shower curtain at Anthropologie, I knew exactly what type of curtains I wanted my little girl to have in her nursery. They took about two days to make, and even though I definitely needed to see the chiropractor afterwards, for $50, they were totally worth it! Making them wasn’t hard, but they are a bit time consuming. I probably would not do this project without a ruffle foot.

Absolutely Lovely and after doing my own curtains and ruffling the edges I know how time consuming it is and the sheer weight wich makes you think you have done a workout! Well done they look amazing and just so different definately different to shop brought :)

Go you! Despite not being a ruffly person, I always love these when browsing Anthro. I agree… the orange makes them even better :)

I loved the shower curtain they had at anthropologie like this. It is definitely my style, but alas my beau is not so keen on ruffles. I decided that considering the amount of time spent in the bathroom, I would concede.

I love your curtains and I love the idea of these for a nursery. The ruffles are soo feminine, but the orange makes it feel not overly precious.

I love these, I saw a version of these online too and loved it. I’d love to make these but don’t know if I have the patience for it.

As long as you have time and a ruffle foot that allows you to ruffle and attach the fabric to the lining at the same time, I would go for it!

nice! hemming all those ruffles looks equally time-consuming! i hope you had a rolled hem foot too to help you out!

Sadly, I didn’t! I used my edge foot and had the needle positioned to the far left, then folded over and stitched as I went (didn’t iron it or double it over)

They are GORGEOUS!!! And I am sure it was very tedious and would have been a nightmare without the ruffle foot. Very professional! Lucky little baby. Happy Sewing!

Thanks! Doing multiple colors helps to break up the monotony a bit! And I took many breaks to inspect my husband’s paintwork in the nursery :). It probably would have taken at least three times as long without the ruffle foot.

Thanks! Whenever I told people I was doing orange and pink curtains, I got very strange looks! But I love them :)

Very cool! You are a very good mommy to put that much work into cool curtains. Nice work.
