Description

A fun blue and green dress that I made a few summers back, but I was just able to get great pictures of it! It is the Simplicity Project Runway inspired patter #2942, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure how it was going to fit. Initially, I didn’t think it fit well, but the I realized that the shoulders were supposed to wide and got over the fit issues. It does have green ties in the back, which helps a bunch! The blue fabric is a two-way stretch that I took from my home…and didn’t realize that my mom was going to use it for a pair of exercise pants! Regardless, the material has a delightful feel to it. The green is left over from a dress I made my sister, so all I had to buy new were the buttons. It did take careful planning to fit all the patter pieces on the length of fabric I had, but I am really pleased with the overall finished product!

The apron is not mine, I am not sure who made it, but I believe it was student made. This photo is also a part of the student run photoshoot that included my “Pink and Lace Remnant Skirt”. The jewelry piece on my right hand is student-designed. Check out www.thebigrainy.blogspot.com for more pictures!

Oh, I thought the apron was part of the dress! It looks totally cool with the apron on, the colour combination is electric. Fantastic dress, and great photo too.
