I am fond of old sturdy mail bags. And I am not the only one, ever since Dutch crown princess Maxima showed herself in a gorgeous jacket made of old mail bags, (http://www.elsevier.nl/web/10236483/Opinie/Op-de-catwalk/Mxima-verrassend-in-oude-postzak.htm) Dutch sewers en masse started recycling these bags into pillows, bags, clothes…
I managed to find a bag, and decided to upcycle it, using Amy Butler’s weekend bag pattern (made it 1/4 smaller).
I also added some old Dutch stamps (printing them on transfer paper, then ironed them on white cotton).
