Description

I work at a craft brewery and I needed to make a dirndl for our Oktoberfest celebration. I used the Coffee Date Dress pattern for the base, but I modified the bodice to be low cut for the front. It really fit like a dream!

For the apron, I took a half yard of fabric and sewed a hem on one side and then gathered the other. Then I cut a long strip of the same fabric and folded it in half and then stitched it together. I turned it right side out, and then unpicked enough stitches in the middle to tuck in the gathered part of the apron front, and topstitched it back into place. I made sure to cut the strip long enough so I could tie it into a cute bow in the front when I was done sewing.

The white shirt was a shirt I already owned.

Material Notes

Black cotton twill; red quilting cotton; red lace; metal buttons; red ribbon; invisible zipper. Total cost for the dress materials was about $13. Socks were $2.00 from Target.
