Fully lined 60’s mini dress from vintage Burda sewing magazine.
I had planned to make this dress black/white to get the full mod feel, but when I went to buy my fabric I stumbled upon this black/silver swirl print jacquard and I knew that this was the fabric for this particular dress.
I opted to leave out the wide binding at the bottom hem since I really did not like the look of it and made the back ties longer so they could also be tied in a bow.
I used as much “vintage” sewing techniques as possible. No fusible, no overlock and no invisible zipper. The collar was interlined with silk organza, bias silk organza strips were used as stay tape where needed. I lined the dress fully and bagged the lining. CB seam has a lapped zipper.
Flirty dresses, a cropped cami, and glam trousers for modern flappers.
