Throughout my final year of my HND I had to complete a minimum of two costumes. I ended up doing three. One of the three costumes was taken from the play ‘Oh What A Lovely War.’ I was allocated two metres of the green fabric and it was up to me how to I wanted to use it and how I wanted to manipulate it! I was also allowed to add white but I was sneaky and added some brown to give the army-ish look! I made the tutu with the long train and the green jacket that zips up at the back! I done a photoshoot too, my cousin was kind enough to model for me and my friend, Lee Colgan, was so lovely and done the make up for me too! But I think anyone would agree that without the make up it would look unusual and plain! Hope you like it!

I have no idea how it works in Scotland! But aren’t the fees better or something? The stupid new government have made it so anything I want to study next will cost at least £9,000 a year! whereas this year cost me £2,300. Bastards! I will go for an open day, I’m excited already!

yeah, I got my fees paid for me which was amazing, and if I went to uni in scotland I wouldn’t have paid anything at all whereas this year bournemouth is costing me like £3,275 I think! Yeah I heard that some courses are going to be like £12,000 which is just madness! The open day I went to was amazing, it’s like an old house that they’ve refurbished into a uni & had an amazing theatre too! I hope you like it, I’m sure you will haha! :)

I think HND is a bit lower than FD, the one just before I think. FD is the first 2 years of a degree, then you have to do a “top up” year, which nowhere seems to offer! I only just found out recently you only get 4 years of student loans, so I don’t want to waste any more time doing what I don’t enjoy. Was it hard to get into Wimbledon? I reeeeeeeeeally want to go there! In Nottingham they think my southern/londonish accent is funny haha

i think it works a bit differently in scotland haha! a hnd here is a is the equivalent to the first two years of uni, but it doesn’t count in England. Like a degree is scotland is four years whereas in England its three i think? But I didn’t want to study in scotland haha, doesn’t offer much for costume design. Wimbledon was so lovely! I just sent them an online porfolio! I’ll be uploading all my stuff soon as I don’t know what to do with it since I’ll be starting something completely different in september. Wimbledon asked for a side project aswell as your portfolio it was a choice out of three plays that you had to read then choose without watching the films or seeing the shows live as they preferred that you thought it all up yourself! You should go to an open day, really gets you in the mood to go there! :)

I’m at nottingham at the moment, doing a foundation degree in fashion, I’m not staying for the second year because it’s soooo crappy! I’m 22, a “mature” student so I’m going to take a year out, build up my portfolio and try to go to Wimbledon College and get a degree in fashion!

aww no, sorry to hear you don’t like it! I didn’t like the first two years of my foundation, it’s a HND here I think thats the same thing! I was lucky enough to do costume in my final year. I got into wimbledon! It was my fave place to go until I went to see bournemouth haha! Wimbledon was lovely though! Such a nice place to live too. Wimbledon College of Art yeah?

Aw thank you! I’ve just finished at a college in Glasgow but I’m starting Bournemouth in September! I hated fashion too! Costumes are much more fun, where abouts are you studying?

Great job on it! I like the tutu with the army inspired jacket, it is a unquie combo. The makeup really helps to push it over the edge.
