I feel like I’m missing something – when I download the PDF, all it gives me is a 2-page PDF that says “Step 1: Download PDF for instructions”
Is there another file somewhere?

Love the Obi Apron and want to make it but maybe I haven’t downloaded all the instructions – I have printed the instructions and the waistband pattern on A4 paper but it doesn’t give any measurements so am not sure how big I need to cut the front waistband pieces. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

I’m new to this site, so forgive me…
I have tried to download the instructions but all I get is a PDF with the photo of the apron, a line drawing, and the words “Step 1 — see pdf for instructions”
Am I missing something?

ok I figured it out. I think I was trying to download on an earlier version of Adobe Reader. When I do it on my nice, new work computer all the instructions magically appear. yay!

I am fairly new to sewing, and I’m thinking this will be a good first garment try. But I am confused about one thing…on the pattern, do you cut it with the short end on the fold or the long end? I know it’s probably obvious but I can’t figure it out and I don’t want to screw it up! Thanks.

I have been meaning to comment on this apron for a while now – I love, love, love it and you are such a lovely girl to pop it up for everyone to use! I plan to make it in to a skirt – and I have checked out others who have had the same idea and they are fab!

The pattern pieces in addition to the waistband are the apron skirt and the ties. Those pieces are all rectangles, so I just included the measurements for those pieces in the instructions.

Thanks! The pattern is for the apron. Some of the members were thinking of modifying the pattern to make a skirt out of it, but I’m not sure if anyone has tried it yet.

had a lot of fun making this today — will upload pics and tag you soon. great instructions, but I got a little lost when it came to attaching the ties to the front of the waistband. perhaps pics would have helped? (or maybe i’m just a little bit thick!!) thanks for a great pattern!

I can’t wait to see your apron! I will try to take pics for the instructions for the next pattern I upload. That was the hardest step to explain in the instructions—sorry you were confused! Basically, you want to catch the end of the tie between the front waistband piece and the back waistband piece in the side seam when you sew it, and then turn the waistband right side out. The entire bottom seam of the waistband will still be open at this point. Clear as mud, right???
