I really like how this skirt turned out. I think I am actually going to wear this skirt. And it was easy to make too! The only thing I regret is that I chosed to make it in size 42 (My waist is size 40 and hip size 44), I should have done it after my waist measurement.
For the skirt panels I used a wool-polyester blend and for the placket and the strips I used lining material (probably polyester).
Burdastyle for the pattern and “Tygaffärn” for the cheap material!

Great skirt! Possibly a silly question, but can’t you use size 40 at your waist, size 44 at your hips and blend in between? This is what I’ve done in the past, but I’m a novice, so ask someone!

it looks really nice! love the subtle colour combination. about the fit: I have the same size difference waist/hips so I always do a trial run with old bed sheets/curtains and alter the pattern accordingly.

I really like the Michelle pattern, it’s so easy and the skirts are so much fun to wear. Yours look great and I hope you’ll enjoy it.

You can always take up the waist so the skirt will fit better. Are there side seams or a back seam? What do you think will happen if you had a little elastic to each side? Maybe that will help it fit better.
