For Sew Weekly’s “lounge wear” theme, I took a 1970s nightgown pattern and tried to make it into a wearable dress. I added bias tape detailing at the edges and also used extra-wide bias tape to make a belt. The darker-colored fabric was my attempt to get into fall sewing, but the sleeveless thing shows that it’s obviously not working.

i love the bias binding and bow tie belt. so cute! i haven’t thought of using large bias binding for a belt before. thanks for the idea :D as for short sleeves and fall- just like tessi said, wear a long sleeve underneath. i have such a hard time with clothes that mine really need to transition seasons. i wear long sleeves under blouses and dresses all the time. it’s a cute look.

I think this is very pretty! I think you should consider wearing a close-fitting, long-sleeved top under it, to bring it into the “Fall” mode………you could also put a sheer and long-sleeved top underneath……….don’t give up on this, because it is worth wearing!!!
