I am forever trying to steal Matt’s cozy Newcastle Cardigan so I thought I would make up a slightly more feminine boyfriend-style cardigan for myself. The gorgeous green wool is perfectly warm on a cool rainy day and I love that it has all my favorite details – military brass buttons, patch pockets, extra long sleeves and rich brown leather details.
I have a photo gallery and a bit of a tutorial on converting the Newcastle Cardigan menswear pattern into a women’s sweater on my blog.
And, by the way, our Newcastle Cardigan sewing pattern is 20% off this weekend! Check it out at the pattern store and receive the discount by entering the code RAIN upon checkout.
Wool (the fabric store lady told me it was worsted), leather, brass buttons, fabric scraps for binding.
Twists on feminine classics, like a bold patterned shift dress and pants with a racing stripe.
