Description
This is the plus size variation on the gown that Nora wore to the Bambi Awards. After the reaction to the original Nora dress, it was obvious there was no use making you wait while we sewed it up, we had to give you the pattern now! Though the photos are the same, the pattern is sized differently. The underskirt peaks out from center front and at the hem, the embroidered detail frames the face as fit for queen, and the curved seaming adds extra couture touch. Just in time for Prom season, we can’t wait to see your creations.

I think the belt is good for larger women that still have an hourglass shape. It might not be good for those with a pear or apple shape, however.

Where’s the sizing info? will the sizing be adjustable for any size or does it just go up to an 18 like I’ve seen here before?

Oh WOW! This version is even prettier than the original. I think the fabric choices this time makes it look more like an evening gown. And as expect, Alden looks absolutely beautiful!

This dress is so lovely and Alden looks just perfect! And I think it would be great as a BRIDE DRESS! Made in white silk, sleeveless, and with delicate creme pink underneath:) And of course long veil:)

I really like the long flow of this dress; I think the belt in self-fabric gives it just a touch of structure. I’m think of making a just below the knee version in a charcoal grey wool. The trim I’d make from a contrasting fabric (perhaps purple japanese-style print) with a folded/origami design element. Dress it down for the office and dress it up for a party!

I love this. I am 25 and quite a bit larger than my friends, so when I can make something for myself that fits this well and looks this flattering on a larger frame, I am thrilled. I wish I knew how to insert a photo onto this.

Love this dress, love that it’s plus size, and actually the belt would be a fabulous idea for me. Everyone’s body shape is different, and some of us larger ladies do have great figures, and I’m glad I’m one of them! (breaks arm patting own back…)
Since I’m a goth I can see this in black with some other pattern underneath (black and white stripes?) in a more casual fabric. Maybe a hand embroidered pattern instead of the braided border? Oh the ideas it gives me.

If I were to make this dress, I’d definitely leave off the belt and want the bodice dart and skirt waistline dart to form one vertical line. I’d also want different sleeves—the short sleeves look too casual, somehow, for the dress.
Sure wish I needed a beautiful dress like this. . . .

I’m sorry but I disagree I am a large size and the belt around the waist is definitely a big no. The dress itself is stunning but for a smaller lady.

well, maybe there should be a tutorial on how to change the position of the belt so as to place it under the bust. That option may look better in some figures.

I think this pattern gives a much more flattering “belt” option for a woman of queenly proportions. Since it is made from the same fabric the belt/waistband all but magically disappears into the dress. Yet it also provides a lovely bit of tailoring where so many patterns for curvy gals just billow into a shapeless cloud.

The dress is great, but not something I would have use for. However, I am green over the fact you were able to find braid trim! Where? How? From whom?? I have scoured the internet, and local fabric stores — nada! Never thought of asking here – but clearly someone must know! All help will be appreciated.

Thank You Alden, I now have the pattern. I’ll read over the directions, and print out the pattern. Then, I’ll post a review. I get proper glasses next week, so reviewing will wait until I can actually see the lines!

The dress is lovely. Even though I am long time past prom night, I can remember. I do have one of those pesky questions, again. Why is this pattern priced higher than the standard size? Not even Vogue or Marfy do that.
