back in the summer my tutor asked me to create a garment to put into my portfolio based on previous college projects. I chose to look back at my:
Urban Nomad
my Nomad Fashion
my lighting
and embroidery project
I chose to combine the: distressed, worn out element of my nomad projects; combining the imagery of my lighting; and the techniques i used in my embroidery project. So i created a fully lined and boned bodice with hook and eye closure at the fount and lace up fastening at the back. the fabric the bodice consists of 48 sections of fabric just for the outer layer (this makes up the chenilled panels) followed by another 8 for the lining. the fabric is hand printed using lino tiles, apart from the chenilling the outer layer was sewn together by hand the lining was also sewn to the outer fabric by hand.
