My son Noel approached me to make shorts for him because he didn’t want to spend $50 on the pair he saw in a catalog. So, I made him a pair for $15.00. I used tan twill cloth and Simplicity’s 5582 pattern for men. He liked it so much he stood over me waiting to put the finishing touches on it. It was a simple pattern and a good experience for me. It took a little longer because my son had a specific cut in mind and length and pocket preferences too! Plus I’ve never made a garment for a man before..Noel is 20! But I’m glad he trusted me with this project.
1.5 yards of twill, 9 inch zip, button, interfacing thread
