Thank you :-D I had heard that lace was really hard to sew with, however I found it okay. I used a very tight straight stitch on the lace which I went over twice along twice followed by zip zag to stop any fraying, although with the stretch lace I didn’t find that a problem. I was lucky in that I used the pretty selvedge as the bottom so no need for a hem, and the material had quite thick flowery bits in the lace which meant that it was like sewing on normal fabric in parts. The only trouble I ran into was when I made a mistake on the arms which I found hard and as a result I had to un-stitch… I could barely see the thread! I also used thick very old black thread which I inherited from my great aunt when she passed.
It was great fun to make I definitely want to carry on making more dresses!
