being more of a coffee house / pub kind of girl it is a rare occasion that i find myself out at a club. it just so happens that i was invited to a place with a dress code, so i managed to wing something up on the fly.
this is an old McCalls pattern M5381, which has gone out of print over the past year or two. it has an open tie front and a loose flowing skirt, with a zipper at the back. if i made this pattern again i would extend the bodice so that i had a little extra coverage in the chest, but hey. i was going to a club. it’s not a big deal, right?
the fabric i chose was a polyster satin with a little bit of a stretch and a light sparkle over the print so that it always seems to look wet. synthetic works well in this situation beause the dress is so loose and open that i did not overheat.
