This light cotton makes a fresh skirt. Once again, I used a wide band and extended the five skirt panels from it. I drafted the left and right sides of the band too high so they come to points. I love the wide band and buttons but I wish that the zipper didn’t need to extend into the skirt but it did to fit.
Update: For those looking to make a similar skirt, the band on the Twinkle A-Plus A-Line is perfect. I made a skirt based on the waistband piece and it fits very well. The link is here: http://www.burdastyle.com/patterns/a-plus-a-line-by-twinkle-by-wenlan

Hi all, I tried to find previous messages sent to me about this skirt because there were several people asking for construction directions. However, I was not able to find those messages! If you want to make a similar skirt, modify the Twinkle A-Plus A-Line waistband. The band in that pattern is well shaped and would be perfect for making this skirt. Then divide the bottom waistband measurement by five (if you want a five panel skirt such as this one) for the top measurement of the skirt panels. Good luck!

Lovely skirt, daicrinne! I’ve included it in my list of “Example creations” on the fabrics international wiki article on cotton.

Great skirt! It can be so hard to find looks for long skirts that aren’t frumpy, so I really like this one.
