These are from the sew along back in March (?). I made them by hobbling together the Nichola waistband, pocket, and belt loop patterns to the Sew U pants pattern. They are super comfortable (though they are a bit big when they stretch out). One question for you fitting experts: These pants have some pretty serious wrinkles under my bum. Any ideas on how to change the pattern so this doesn’t happen on the next pair?

i’m in the middle of making the pants in the Sew U book, and i’ve found that the pattern piece for the back yokes DON’T FIT onto the pattern piece for the back pants, onto which they are supposed to be attached. one has a rounded edge (the yoke), and one a flat edge (the back pant)— and somehow you’re supposed to match these edges and sew them together?!? did you (or anyone else) encounter this same problem? or am i totally misunderstanding something? i did my best trying to match the edges without creating any folds or unintended darts, but it’s frustrating that two pattern pieces that are supposed to go together don’t fit together. aaarrrrrgggghhhh….

I love these! I think the wrinkles do not detract too much from them though I am very interested as well in how to solve the problem!

I recently got the Vogue Sewing revised edition (barnes and nobles). It states that "if the lines of the wrinkles point toward the waist, the crotch seam must be lengthened. Let out the waist seam and make a deeper curve by lowering the seam at the bottom of the curve and taper on both front center and back center seams. Hope it helps a bit-This book is amazing by the way!

Hi kallers! I think you did a good job. However, I noticed the wrinkles too, and made a HowTo to show you what to do. I hope it’ll help. Ana http://www.burdastyle.com/howtos/show/879
