My second attempt at the Nichola pattern in muslin. These are a keeper! They’re the first pants I’ve made in 15 years. I will make them from my ‘real fabric’ – an Italian wool composite and line them in the coming weeks…

Hi there – the first time, my printer had set the PDF download pattern to print at 107% so the sizing was wrong from the start. I also did the waistband upside down and had problems with the fly front zipper. After I read some of Sandra Betzina’s book, I was ready to try again. My “real” fabric was expensive and Im glad I didnt cut into and sucked it up to try the second muslin… but if you have inexpensive fabric and it doesnt work out, its effectively like making a muslin, no?

What happened the first time?
I’m about to begin the Nichola pattern and I would like to skip the muslin stage since I’m using inexpensive fabric.

The muslin looks good. I’m looking forward to seeing the finale creation.
