Description
Two wool caps I created. No pattern, drafted one of my own. First one is a basic newsboy cap from the 19th century through the early 20th century. It is made from a scraped army blanket. The second one is a modified newsboy cap, with a retro 70’s appeal, designed based on the hat worn by JJ in the 70s-80s TV show “Good Times.” It is made from grey wool and navy blue flannel. Both have vintage buttons sewn on top.
Material Notes
Wool, flannel and cotton linings.

Hello Edmond Ray. What can I use in the brim of a cap to make it a bit firm? Haven’t made one before so I’m not sure which products would be best. Thanks.

my brim is just a double layer of wool, turned and stitched. To make it a bit stiffer you could try a light weight plastic, like a piece of milk jug or something like it. Set it inside.

Have to dig around and find the pattern. It is quite easy (or hard, depending on skill level) Will put up steps and instructions later.
