Here it is, the first sample of the inaugural pattern of my menswear sewing pattern company, Thread Theory Designs Inc. The pattern is now out with the first batch of testers and I hope that it sews up as nicely for them as it did for me – I’m so happy with how it looks! My husband says it’s now his favorite sweater :)

This is really exciting to see, my hubby is always going on that I don’t make anything for him. Now I don’t have the excuse. I also have a wee boy – thought of doing boys patterns too?!! Congratulations.

I’m glad that your husband has some garments coming his way in the future :) I don’t have any patterns planned for children yet but that is certainly a possibility down the road! Thanks for the comment!

Go for it :) It’s the perfect sweater to steal – the long arms are so cozy and it’s a slim fit so it looks pretty nice on girls too! I’ve already borrowed it from Matt once or twice lol

it looks super awesome! i was curious if the tuck at the top of the placket/bottom of the collar was intentional?

The picture is maybe a little deceiving because we bumped up the contrast quite a bit so all the seams would be clearly visible – what looks like a tuck is actually just the collar/top of the placket being pushed out a little after Matt took his scarf off. I think if the button placement was a tiny bit higher the fabric wouldn’t push out…I’ll try that out on the next sample.

Thanks! I like it too – bringing in gray makes the brown go with more colors I think…
