I found this pattern at BurdaStyle, and thought it would be fun to try a user-submitted project. I think it turned out pretty well. Be warned that the pattern contains absolutely NO instructions, and one of the pieces is mislabelled (directed as a piece for the hat, when it’s a piece for the boot). It’s not overly complicated, though. I didn’t run into any snags.
I made this project for my friend’s baby. If you’re looking for something to throw together in an hour or two for a gift, this might be the pattern for you. As it’s designed, the boots are more like low-cut shoes than booties. I’d like to try this pattern again with some modifications.
This pattern is great for upcycling any cotton jersey. I used new cotton jersey donated by my Mum.
