I bought the issue because of this dress. And made it in a couple of days; had to shorten the pattern because I’m 166 cm. The gown is well-fitted exept the sleeves but as I wanted them long, I left what I’d got.
It was made for a New Year’s day celebration and hope to have more chances to wear it. It’s really very womanish.
My variant is made of crepe. But the fabric was really a little thick for draping although I’m glad with the result and have no doubts as for my choice.

For one more time your dress looks better than the burda model, I wonder how you managed to make the knot less bulky and the dress more fitted

I was surprised with the knot, too. To tell the true, I bought two different fabrics for this project, at first I was going to use something like poplin right because of that knot but then decided that for New Year it’s not appropriate and chose this crepe. While making the knote I made two lines of long machine seams and gathered the draping part with them. I thought it would help to have draping even. And then steamed the knot from the wrong side.
As for fitting, I didn’t change anything, I only changed the pattern for my height.

thanks for the tip:) I’m thinking of making this dress … next winter maybe, I’ll ask you then how you shortened such a complicated bodice.

Thank you very much! The pattern isn’t so complex as it seems to be. Only the draping reminds a riddle:)

Thank you very much! After seeing the pattern I decided to do it only in such a colour and was lucky enough to find exactly what I wanted.

Thank you ! I also had an idea of clutch but the colour seemed to be not practical for that.
