Description
This dress was created from a square silk scarf and weighs including zipper, yarn, rubber yarn and three small snaps only 64 grams!
The fabric is so smooth that I made ββit difficult to sew, but I am more than happy with the result. At first I was afraid to go to this project. But the cloth was an ebay bargain (designer cloth by Otto Kern second choice), so that the material loss would be kept within limits, if I had ruined the dress.
I managed to sew the dress almost perfectly symmetrical.
The dress is based on the pattern size NO. 114B-012012-DL from Burdastyle.
I did without the darts. The collar, I smocked with rubber yarn and chosen as closing three small buttons. The rear zipper is sewn in only half, giving the dress more freedom of movement.
I hope you enjoy it just like me.
Looking forward to your comments and wish you all a Happy New Year 2013!

Your dress is absolutely stunning and I love how you have used 1-2 scarves to make this dress. If I could buy such a beautiful print scarf, I would love to sew this dress too. I hope you get to wear it lots over the New Year party season and I am sure you will many compliments. And Happy New Year to you and wishing you many happy sewing hours in 2013.

The German seller has simlar fabric, but not 100% Silk. And yes it is only 1 scarf (135 Γ 135 cm) and I am 1,60 cm high.

Thank-you Anita for the web address to buy similar fabric. I live in Australia and one of my best friends is German so she can maybe help me buy this fabric if there are any language difficulties.

The print on the fabric is amazing, and the style that you cut makes a very slimming shape :)
