Added Dec 28, 2012
This dress was created from a square silk scarf and weighs including zipper, yarn, rubber yarn and three small snaps only 64 grams!
The fabric is so smooth that I made it difficult to sew, but I am more than happy with the result. At first I was afraid to go to this project. But the cloth was an ebay bargain (designer cloth by Otto Kern second choice), so that the material loss would be kept within limits, if I had ruined the dress.
I managed to sew the dress almost perfectly symmetrical.
The dress is based on the pattern size NO. 114B-012012-DL from Burdastyle.
I did without the darts. The collar, I smocked with rubber yarn and chosen as closing three small buttons. The rear zipper is sewn in only half, giving the dress more freedom of movement.
I hope you enjoy it just like me.
Looking forward to your comments and wish you all a Happy New Year 2013!
PS. More images on my blog.
