I love Wes Anderson and his heroines who are always strong and clever. Suzy Bishop (Moonlight Kingdom) while the youngest, has the cutest dress sense. Mini Dresses in the 60’s! Hello how could I not copy this?? She wears pink for most of the film but at the end she wears a yellow lace dress. Pink is not really my thing, so yellow it is!
I used a buttery soft yellow linen from ‘The Fabric Shop’ and a pattern which I have used before – Style 2475. The linen is very see through so I have to wear a slip.
I self-drafted the collar (which ended up being a tad short) and borrowed the cuffs from another shirt pattern.
In retrospect I could have added pockets where the seams meet at the insets – but then it would have disturbed the hang. Also I keep forgetting to let the hips out on this pattern, so it’s a bit tight around there. Hopefully the linen will stretch out a little. I pre-washed so no danger of it going the other way

Ah, your dress is so lovely, the feeling is just the same than in the movie! I think that pale yellow is quite tricky color but it suits you very well:)

This looks so nice! The yellow is wonderful on you. And the white collar makes a very good contrast.
