I used Vogue 1086, a Tracy Reese design, to make this dress. I’ve been a chronic victim of bad sizing info, so I bit the bullet and made an 8 instead of the 12 that matched my measurements. The result was a perfectly fitting dress! Next goal: learn how to check the actual inches on the pattern to ensure a good fit.

Your dress is very cute! Flat pattern measuring is a way to check the size of the dress. Once you learn that, fitting is a lot easier!

Yes- I’m trying to figure out how much extra room I typically like around my middle to feel comfortable. Thanks for the compliment and tip!
