New cover for side chairs

I wanted to put a new cover on two old side chairs I had. I wanted something with turquoise and settled for a combination of a brown fabric with a fabric that has a turquoise-ish floral pattern on a brown background.

Material Notes

I also got new pillows for the chairs that I cut out of a block of foam. I should have gotten softer foam the would settle under the tension of the fabric. Now, you can see that I took the edges of with a kitchen knife (and didn’t do a super job) ;)
Well, they look better than before :)

It looks stunning, The fresh clean look but at the same time color and not boring. Good, I like to upgrade and innovate things, it has extra satisfaction and it’s more fun than buy new things.

these look really great! if you would like, here is a tip, that makes your cutingmarkes invisible without a big effort: after cutting the foam block, wrap a few layers of soft fibre fill (that material you use as well for the insite of quilted material (you can get it cheap in the internet). that softens the surface and is soft and cosy on top!

That’s such a good idea it makes me think I’m somewhat of an idiot not to come up with it myself ;)
Ah well, lesson learned, thanks for the tip, I will surely remember it and apply it in my future projects :)
And obviously thanks for the nice feedback, really appreciate it!

Thank you, my remotes (as in tv remote, stereo remote, …) are also very happy since they moved to the little bag I made for them from the leftovers ;)

Actually the hardest part was finding the right fabric (same problem here, the chairs did not match the new colorscheme of my interior (http://www.flickr.com/photos/j__st/5070824553/) And the other thing that caused me headaches were the new cushions I made. Covering them was actually rather easy :) The final side is obviously the hard part. I thought about putting in a zipper, but in the end I just ended up sewing them shut by hand. I’d say go for it. Nothing beats that ‘I did that’ feeling ;)

Oh, and thanks a million for your positive feedback. This was my first thing ever I posted here, so I had a bit of stage fright, but you made my day :D

I love this! I have recently decorated my living room and I have a chair that doesn’t match my new decor. I have toyed with the idea of recovering. Did you find it easy to do?
