Description

My good old butterfly chair desperately needed a new cover. This is what I came up with.

I used Mc’Call’s pattern number 2724 view A. The top is pieced together using 4 1/2" squares and a 1/4" seam allowance to yield 4" squares. I used about 1/8 yard of ten different quilting fabrics. Several of these fabrics are available in my Etsy.com shop. For the back I used a heavy natural unbleached cotton duck. The top was sewn together with ordinary sewing thread but when it came to joining the top and bottom together I switched to a heavy upholstery thread.

Material Notes

100% cotton quilting broadcloth, 100% cotton duck, all purpose thread, upholstery thread

Beautiful colors look like prisms! I want to take a nap on this chair in the sun shine.
