New boheme dress

Added Apr 6, 2011

by apfelbluete

Duesseldorf, Ger...

I bought this fabric because of the fabric color and pattern . It is so soft on my skin.
On the waist there is smoke gum. Due to some unknown reason it took me a few days to complete the garment.
I will definitely not repeat this work. I didn’t like it at all.
I took pictures with belt and without. The dress can be worn either way….
I will exchange the buttons later on,as they are too heavy for such a soft cloth.
They have feet and fall onto the side….

Material Notes

Spring, Fall, Winter
Garment Type
Bohemian, Casual, Ethnic, Romantic

the dress looks so nice, I think it is all worth the struggle you had. I see the buttons, they are nice, but you are right, they are too heavy for the silky fabric, but I’m sure you’ll find others whicch are as nice too.

It is not silk, but cotton-viscose :-)

I love the dress, very feminine… I know what you mean when you say “Due to some unknown reason it took me a few days to complete the garment”, it happened to me with the last garment I sew. I thought it would be real piece of cake but it turned out to be a pain, and I just couldn’t understand why. But, as in your case, it was worth it!
