I had gotten this fabric off a “Stash Bash” table or at a sewing guild garage sale and thought it would make a beautiful dress. It looks to be a men’s tie print polyester. i know I promised a how to the last time I posted this variation and it’s almost ready to post just need a few more pics.

I love this pattern and how it lends itself to variation. Thank you for you instructions. You should at a “make-it” tag to your project. Any hints on achieving the bubbly? I assume you lined with with a shorter, narrower piece to get the hem to bubble.

I added 8 in of length and a 1 in elastic 26 in long to draw it up.

Because I added the instructions at a later time for some reason it didn’t update. I put elastic in the hem to draw up and make the bubble.

Thanks, that pattern is so easy to alter. I did the sketches for the original Malissa. It wasn’t exactly as I imagined it but it still a wonderful dress to play with.
