Navy twill trousers - Audrey and Marilyn inspired

Description
Cotton twill trousers, very heavy twill, so it wrinkles too easily :(
I have wanted shortened trousers for a long long while. I so love the boy-ish but classic look they give. I have included my inspiration page.
Navy is pretty much my staple wardrobe colour. I am very happy with some of the details, such as the well-finished waistband and the pockets. I took great care making these, with the help of a book called “Making trousers – how to achieve great results”. I used a remnant of soft baby blue cotton as lining for the in-seams pockets and the waistband, and both fabrics have a little bit of elastane. This makes the trousers very comfortable to wear.
Material Notes
Cotton twill with some elastane, cotton with elastane as lining

Wow, great looking pants. I am curious if you did any alterations to the fit. I made these too and it came baggier than I envisioned in the hip/crotch area. Plus, after I measured the pattern, I decided to make it in smaller size than I usually make. Also, I followed the instruction to the T for the waistband and my waistband came out bulky.

Hi Stefanisarah, thanks for the kind message. I only did my usual grading up one size from waist to hips, but I think that wasn’t necessary. The trousers are indeed a bit baggy in the crotch area, hips are ok for me. But I think that’s the intended shape, although I might modify it in the future. For the waistband, I mostly followed the book mentioned above, and it worked out great. But I used lining inside, not fashion fabric, so it’s thinner.
