i used the bodice from the coffee date dress pattern and added 6" to the bottom to start this shirt. after adding in the facings, (only properly done at the neck, the armholes are just zig-zag stitched) i added a visible 14" vintage, navy blue zipper. i thought about doing the darts, but decided i liked it loose fitting. to finish it off, i trimmed the bottom with a 4" strip of the same fabric all the way around to make it the same length front and back since without the darts and skirt (for the dress) it would have been different. I’m wearing it today and i like it a lot, but i think it would be more comfy with a stretchy fabric. thanks for looking!
