Description

I made this top from left over fabric that was used to make my daughters bridesmaid dresses for her wedding in 2010. I highly recommend choosing several sizes smaller for this top if you want the fit to look like the white top in the July, 2012 Burda magazine, because the actual fit is very baggy and not at all fitted. I made French seams for all of the seams which really suits chiffon. I made the tie at the back neck line but will change this to a button and a self fabric loop. The tie looks like something on a hospital gown!!!

The hospital gown ties will be off asap and I will re-post some photos then.

Oh, my! I´ve always thought Burda measures are something you can rely on! Great job, again! You´ve been busy! The colour is so pretty!

You can usually rely on Burda measurements but I think the photo was deceiving in this case. After I had made this top, I was looking through the previous months magazine and saw the back page that has a preview of what the next month will offer. There is another photo of the white top and it looks much wider and less fitted.

I’ve made this too and agree re the sizing – it’s very generous indeed! I ended up taking inches out of the seams. Love the colour of your version.

Thanks again Debbie. I probably took out 5cm each side. Fortunately it was easy enough to do.
