Knee length coat with fitted bodice and raglan sleeves has a wide portrait collar and slight double breasted closure at waistline. The skirt is semi-circle. This should be worn with a wide belt. Pattern: Butterick 5824
This coat has had its first fitting. The stretch factor in both the wool and lining has added too much ease to the fit, so I need to remove the skirt from the bodice so that I can alter the side seams.
The images here are those that I used to start this project: the Butterick pattern draft, my design sketch, and the textiles I am using to make it.
Wool: Navy pinstriped with slight stretch across grain
Lining: Red Satin charmeuse with slight stretch across grain
