When I drafted this skirt I had the Kasia skirt shape in mind. I really love the pencil skirt shape (as well as fuller shapes too). I added a nice little godet pleat at the back to add a bit of detail. The fabric i’ve used is stretch cotton twill which was a bit of a nightmare to use in places as it is prone to over stretching while sewing, but interfacing came to the rescue. The waist band is lined with a blue floral cotton lawn as well as the pocket lining. The hem has been hand stitched due to the unreliable nature of the fabric!
(After having a look at the pics I couldn’t help think that I looked a bit like an air hostess, hence the name of the skirt).

Very nice. Lucky you figured out how to treat the material, it’s quite gorgeous, both the colour and the subtle shinyness when it creases (actually it would have been perfect for my current Drape Drape-skirt-project). It IS a bit air-hostessy, ie stylish.

Despite your frustrations with the stretchiness of the fabric (I’ve been there too!), this turned out just gorgeous!

Thanks olystyrene, I found the hem quite difficult before hand stitching it. I tried to sew it using the machine but it looked awful! I vowed never to use stretch twill again (or not for a while anyway)
