Burda Style For people who sew
Description
This is fast becoming my favorite A-Line skirt! Everything about this pattern is lovely: the pleats, the lining, the yoke, and it’s FREE to boot!
I modified the yoke waistband slightly to fit by adding more curvature to the top-back waistband but also took out some of the curvature to the lower-back waistband. Otherwise I made no other modifications to the pattern, besides adding in some stabilization to the yoke and zipper area.

Material Notes
Navy Wool Flannel (light to medium weight), grey bemberg lining, Horsehair canvas for the yoke, stay tape for the waistband, Silk Organza for invisible zipper stabilization

Teal coarse woven cotton, I think it may have been upholstery fabric, 40 years old from my Mother’s stash!!!

Love your skirt! And it is so carefully sewn, your seams look so nice and not wonky at all! I’m planning to make my own since a while, too, hope it will come out as nice as yours!

I agree! This has become my “standard” skirt pattern for work attire. I really like your whole outfit, navy blue and red is such a classic combination, you look really smart :)
