I made this for the Sew Weekly Nautical challenge.
Based on 06/11 BurdaStyle halterneck sun dress, only with shoulder straps instead of the halterneck and with a circle skirt. By no means perfect, but I’m pretty pleased with how it’s turned out. And this was originally a blue and white stripey duvet cover from the Tesco’s economy range!
I even got round to blogging it:-

Hi, I bought the same duvet cover meaning to do the same thing as it reminded me of the lining in sailors’ jackets (well, vintage once at least…ticking?) Then we needed a duvet cover so it ended up on the bed..ho hum! I am inspired to cut some holes in it now I have seen what you have done.
