I bought a lovely navy silk noil. It feels quite like linen, but doesn’t have the unfortunate quality of creasing with even the slightest touch! The skirt is a circle skirt and is made from 12 panels. All the raw edges are finished so that it doesn’t fray, there is an invisible zip and 4 snaps that form the closure on the side.
The top is made from another top that I used as fabric and some bias tape.
The necklace is also made by me (the anchor is fimo clay), the belt is second hand.
Edit: I’ve posted a rough outline of how I made the skirt on my blog, http://unchicpetit.blogspot.com/
1.5 meters of silk noil, old t-shirt, bias tape

Thanks :)
I use photoshop (CS4) to edit all my photos, I’ve found it to be the most reliable.

Love this outfit — the nautical inspiration has sort of been the theme of my summer sewing as well. Beautiful work!

That is so cute! If only I were younger and thinner (sigh). This would be exactly something I would wear!

Thank you so much!
I didn’t use a commercial pattern for the skirt, though I wrote down the process roughly and posted that on my blog, http://unchicpetit.blogspot.com/ :)
