Description

My mom sewed my dad a very dark navy peacoat using the most thick and luxurious wool. She doesn’t have a BurdaStyle account but I’m so proud of her, I just had to upload it to show everyone! My dad is an avid sailor and likes lots of movement so she used our Goldstream Peacoat pattern without the slimming front dart. She cut him a size XL which may be a touch big in the shoulders, but he is very happy with the movement it affords.

My mom used the PDF version of the pattern (and had it printed at Staples) but the tissue pattern has officially been released today so, to sew your own version, you don’t have to do any printing or taping! Get your pattern here.

What a great coat, makes me think why I never considered making something for my dad!

My dad is my favourite person to sew things for because he is so appreciative (and also very picky about how he likes things to fit) so it is very rewarding!

Thanks! He is, he wears it all the time! He loves how warm it is and has already asked my mom for a lighter spring version.
