New York, New Yo...
Remember the Bella trousers we featured in 2008? Well, they have gotten a makeover and we’re loving their Navy nautical flare, thanks to our power member AnaJan. Ana took the 6 button closures in front and divided them three and three on either side of center front, while creating a proper sailor’s front “flap” opening. The front pleats were removed for a sleeker silhouette, as well as the back pockets.
Paired with a striped top the look is sophisticated and fun. You can try this variation in wool like Ana did, or denim (striped like a railroad conductor) or men’s suiting (how about plaid) would also work.
Which do you like better? Before or After?
• Bella pants pattern
• Tracing paper
• Ruler, pen
• Cello tape
2 1/2 yards (2 2-2.20 metres) navy wool, 6 buttons, interfacing
