The last time my sister was visiting we took a trip to Scrap in SF to look for fabric. She picked out this wacky spandex that I begged her to have because I knew if would make the best leggings. She was nice enough to give the fabric to me and today I finally made my leggings from BurdaStyle’s Carol pattern. I shortened the legs, brought the waist down, and added a fold down top.
What’s better than a wacky print that makes you smile every time you look at it?

I’m guessing that it’s spandex since it’s super stretchy, but I bought it secondhand and unlabeled so I’m not entirely sure.

That print is fabulous!! and yes, it’s perfect for leggings. They look fantastic on you :-) I have never really dared attempt anything involving stretch fabric…I think I’ll have to learn now, because I’m dying to have a pair like these :)

these look great! Have to say though first thing that popped into my head – Flashdance! …oh hold on you can get fabric at Scrap…dont I have to know a teacher or someone to get in there though? (that is, if you are still willing to answer after that Flashdance comment)

Thanks!
Yeah, Scrap is pretty great… it’s a creative reuse center, but they have quite a bit of fabric. It’s a bit hit or miss, but I enjoy finding fabric secondhand. Good luck!
